Yoga for Mental Health is a holistic mental health therapy. Through it a client may develop awareness, identify strengths, and learn techniques for mental and physical wellness.

In each session the client and therapist together will engage in the physical practice of yoga. According to physical and mental condition, experience level and needs, we will choose asana (poses) and pranayama (breathing) that may lead to insight, strength, flexibility and balance. The yoga portion of the session may vary by individual but usually be about half the total session time. Iyengar methods of modification will assure that postures are accessible to all clients, whatever their physical condition or prior experience. Advanced practitioners may deepen their practice. The practice will be followed (or preceded) by a reflection on your experience. We may discuss your reactions in the practice itself or in other aspects of your life. Ultimately, we hope to identify goals, whatever they might be, and develop strategies to achieve them.

Clients should feel empowered by the practice of abhyasa (study) and vairaghyam (non-attachment), the two pillars of yoga, to experience challenge, contentment, and joy in their yoga and in their lives.

Rates are: $100 per 60 minute session, $125 for 75 minutes.
Your insurance may reimburse you for treatment from a mental health practitioner.
